The inaugural Crypties Awards were held on November 30, 2022 at Decrypt Studios in Miami. It was a star-studded event, with emcee Josh Ostrovsky („The Fat Jewish“) and presenters from a range of crypto projects. Nine statuettes were awarded in various categories and the evening was sponsored by Polygon, Filecoin Foundation, Lamina1, Async, BeetsDAO, The Gold Mask, Gem Set, Breakout, Anonymous, Infinite Objects, Ape Water, Decentralized Pictures, and Vault 721.

Marek Olszewski accepted the Cryptie for social impact from presenter Dan Roberts of Decrypt Media. The other nominees in the category were Ukraine DAO, Dream DAO, Proof of Protest, and Digital Diaspora.

Clay Robbins of Slow Ventures, Soona Amhaz of Volt Capital, Sarah Guo of Conviction and formerly Greylock, and Alex Strzesniewski of AngelBlock joined the panel. The discussion included topics such as how the crypto industry can remain resilient in the face of bear markets, and the importance of maintaining adequate liquidity for venture capital firms.
